Custom Stainless Steel Mushroom Head Screw

A customer needed a mushroom head screw that they couldn’t find as a standard part — a wide domed head with a slotted drive, on a threaded body, and they wanted it made in stainless steel. We machined it from solid stainless bar to their drawing.
It’s a screw with a wide, low, domed head — the mushroom shape — and a single slot for a flat screwdriver. The broad head spreads the clamping load over a larger area, which helps when fastening thin or soft material, and it sits fairly flush and clean on a visible surface. The customer specified stainless steel for corrosion resistance and a bright finish without plating. Because the head profile isn’t a catalog standard, the screw had to be machined to their dimensions rather than bought.

We Machine Custom Screws to Spec
This mushroom head screw is one example. We machine custom and non-standard screws and fasteners to drawing — different head shapes (dome, flat, pan, countersunk, knurled), drive types (slotted, hex, Torx, custom), non-standard threads, and special lengths — in stainless steel, brass, steel, aluminum, and titanium, etc. If you need a screw that isn’t available off the shelf, send a drawing or a sample and we’ll quote it.

Our Manufacturing Capabilities

Capabilities include 3-axis and 5-axis CNC milling, as well as CNC turning. Materials include aluminum alloys, stainless steel, titanium, and engineering plastics, among others.
Available secondary operations include anodizing, powder coating, bead blasting, and laser engraving.
Capacity supports everything from single-unit rapid prototyping to low-volume production runs of 1 to 1,000+ units.
Factory Quality Assurance

A standardized Quality Management System (QMS) is applied to all manufacturing orders, regardless of part complexity or production volume. The following inspection stages are mandatory for every CNC machining project:
