Blue Delrin CNC Machining: Custom Frame Part

The customer sent us drawings and specified blue Delrin. The part is a rectangular open frame — simple shape, but with a scalloped inner edge, a row of countersunk holes, and chamfers all around. No design input needed from our side, just accurate machining. Custom Delrin parts like this are everyday work in our shop, and this one is a good look at how we handle them.
Blue Delrin CNC machining starts the same way as any POM job: solid block, 3-axis mill. Rough the window and outer profile first, leave stock, then finish. The scalloped edge took the most care — those arcs have to blend smoothly, with no steps or dwell marks, so we ran a fine stepover with a sharp single-flute cutter. Countersinks were done in the same setup as the top face to keep positions true, and every edge got a chamfer.
Inspected, shipped, straight into use — no rework. We handle everything from blue Delrin CNC machining to PEEK, nylon, ABS, and aluminum.
