Custom CNC Machining Brass Manifold Blocks

We recently completed a batch of custom brass manifold blocks for a client, and we wanted to share how we handled the project. These components are a staple in fluid and air distribution systems. While they might look like simple blocks, getting the internal threads clean and the multiple ports perfectly aligned requires a steady hand and the right CNC setup. Here’s a breakdown of how we brought these from raw brass bars to finished parts.
Project Details
Part type: Custom Brass Manifold Blocks
Material: Brass
Machining Process: CNC Milling
Surface Finish: As-Machined
Quantity: 100 pcs
Lead Time: 30 day
These manifolds are designed with a main longitudinal gallery intersected by multiple vertical distribution ports. Maintaining strict concentricity and perpendicularity of these intersecting bores is critical to ensuring unobstructed fluid flow. Using 5-axis CNC machining centers enabled single-setup drilling operations, minimizing repositioning errors and guaranteeing precise alignment throughout the manifold body.
A multi-stage deburring process was implemented, combining mechanical deburring with subsequent ultrasonic cleaning to fully eliminate metal chips and contaminants from internal fluid passages. The finished brass manifolds exhibited consistent dimensional accuracy and satisfied all functional specifications for integration into the client’s production assembly line.
