High Transmittance Acrylic Manifold CNC Machining

For critical fluidic and optical components, acrylic manifold CNC machining demands a high degree of transparency that is difficult to achieve. Standard machining processes often leave tool marks and cloudy surfaces, which are unacceptable for these applications. Furthermore, this specific design featured intersecting internal bores and deep vertical holes. The challenge was to maintain tight dimensional tolerances while ensuring the internal channels remained perfectly clear for visual inspection, without causing stress cracks or melting the material during the drilling process.
By leveraging our custom single-crystal diamond tools and optimized machining strategy, we delivered a ready-to-use component with consistent high transparency and gloss—no extra surface treatment required.
The final part achieved 92% light transmission with zero visible tool marks. The intersecting holes were burr-free, ensuring smooth fluid flow. The client was able to use this part immediately for their optical validation testing.
